Mandoline Slicer

At one time, mandoline slicers were only found in professional kitchens, but today many home cooks can find the much simpler version in stores for under $20. The Mandoline slicer is the perfect tool for creating cooking sensations quickly and easily. These slicers are great at cutting a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. Many mandolines also have attachments to cut things in julienne strips or other sizes. I recommend that every home cook should have one, but please be very careful and be sure to always use the guard.
