Strudel

Strudel one would say is a Middle European dessert, but it is common in Italy as well, especially in the regions of Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia-Giulia where I grew up. In both of these areas, the crossing of cultures have blended flavors, languages, and traditions, and the making of strudel is as common as making a plate of pasta. But strudel, wherever made, is a delicious dessert; I especially love it when it is served warm with vanilla cinnamon ice cream.
