Farro

Farro is one of the oldest grains, and I urge you to try it. If you are not familiar with it, you will come to love it. An ancient form of wheat (also called emmer), farro cooks like pearl barley or rice, with no soaking. It has a wonderful nutty flavor and is very nutritious. Since it is now sold in many specialty and health food markets and easily ordered online, it is easy to procure and it stores well. I hope it becomes a staple in your pantry.
