Snap Peas

Snap peas, known as sugar snap peas, differ from snow peas in that their pods are round as opposed to flat. The pods are juicy, crisp, sweet, and crunchy, and are delicious when enjoyed fresh and uncooked right from the garden. When buying snap peas, look for a bright green color and pods that feel crisp. Snap peas are often cooked by steaming or sautéing. In addition to the pea pods you can also harvest and enjoy eating the flower blossoms and leafy plant tips or pea shoots.
