Deep Frying the Right Way

Deep frying is a great method to seal in flavor and provide a delicious, crispy crust. To deep fry at home, you’ll need a deep fry thermometer. They are inexpensive and the only way to truly tell the temperature of your oil. When you add food to your hot oil you will see a decrease in temperature. If the temperature of the oil doesn’t recover within a couple seconds, increase the strength of the heat source. If your oil is too hot or kept at a higher temperature for too long it will start to break down, leaving your food with an unpleasant color and taste.
