I recently made cornbread for the first time and my husband loved the flavor. However the result was very dry and crumbly. It was diffucult to spread anything on it because it fell apart. How do I make it moister so it will hold together? The ingredients are cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, eggs, sour cream and oil.

I add extra melted butter and an extra egg to a basic corn bread recipe because many are dry and plain. The sour cream element sounds delicious, buttermilk is another option which adds moistness and a nice flavor. Try using a little more sour cream instead of butter. Some additions (you can use one, some or all) to add moisture and flavor: shredded sharp cheddar, corn kernels, chopped jalapeno, chopped sauteed bell peppers.
