I am having a hard time finding cipolline. What I do find are flat and sweet. My dad used to bring home cipolline from NYC but they were almost bitter. I am not sure what they were called or where to buy them. They resembled shallots in appearance. Any ideas?

I also like cipollini onions, I live in ny, A store called ragtime, on Crossbay Blvd. carries them. I do not know where your dad lives, hope this helps
