please help
I'm having trouble finding a couple of recipes that my grandmother used to make when I was young that I would like to recreate for my children. she was from Messina and my grandfather from Lipari. The first one was a soft biscuit type of thing that she called cusadoush (spelling?) the second one she just called plaits or braids and was a fried pastry that she made for special occassions

veal osso bucco
I tried the veal osso bucco the other night for the first time, tasted great but the veal stuck to the pan and then the string came off and the veal was in pieces.I used canoa oil instead of vegetable oil.Would that have made the difference or was the oil too hot or not hot enough..thanks

Cooking dvd's and recipe books
Hi Lidia, My father watches your cooking show on TLN in Montreal, Canada, and he loves, loves your cooking and because he speaks only Italian and wants to understand the ingredients you put and what you say, he wants to know if he can get your cookbook in Italian and/or your DVD in Italian. His favourite is the Osso Bucco and other fish dishes you make, basically he loves everything you cook because it reminds of a home-cooked meal my mother used to cook all the time. She is not with us anymore, she passed away 8 years ago and we still feel her loss greatly. I tried to cook like her but I can never get it right. You are our inspiration. Please let me know if I can get the Italian cookbook (written only in Italian) and the Italian DVD please. I would greatly appreciate a quick reply so I can do some recipes for him, and by the way, he learned to cook his way a few years ago and he would love to do your recipes, with my help of course. Thank you very much! Immacolata

Gnocchi with poina enfumegada
My dad was talking about a cheese my grandma would put on her gnocchi. It was a smoked ricotta cheese called poina. I have found names of cheeses like poina enfumegada or poina fumada. I am trying to find a substitute for this. Can someone suggest one? It is a cheese produced in the Belluno and Val di Sole regions. Thanks!

Easter Bread
My mother is from the Abbruzzo region, and makes an Easter Bread each year that she calls Spianada, not sure if this is the correct spelling. It is a sweet bread flavoured with anise seed. Does ANYONE have a recipe for this. My mama doesn`t use recipes and her spianada never comes out the same way twice, much to her chagrin, and I need a recipe that doesn`t involve a yield of 8 loaves!!

Homemade Sausage
My best friend makes her own sausage, and my favorite is sausage with apples, raisins, and orange peel. I think she said her family used to make it with liver as well, but she just makes hers with ground pork. She doesn't know how to spell the name that her family has always called this sausage, and when I tried to google it, I came up with something obcene. I wonder if anyone might have the correct name and spelling for this sausage. I'll try to spell it phonetically. The first a is long, the second a is short.. It sounds sort of like i-fa/-gi-ta. Does anyone know anything about this sausage?
