A simple sauce when you're in a pinch

A brown butter sauce infused with a sage or basil make a delicious and quick topping for my fresh pastas. Melt a stick of butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Once the butter is liquid, add in your chopped herbs (basil will give it a wonderful nutty flavor) and increase the heat slightly. Stir the sauce as the fat in the butter browns. Once you see the sauce color, remove from the heat so the herbs don’t fry. Serve the sauce over your fresh pasta.
